New Year, New Shows, New Lockdown….

This image of a the backs of my cut up black weaving, in the process of deciding how to reconstruct the pieces into a coherent piece of work seems to sum up 2020. Happily the pieces are resolving into two or three new tapestries, and the first of these, ‘Threnody’ is now on it’s way to London along with four other tapestries into the hands of Cavaliero Finn,  to form part of  their exciting new partnership Crafting a Difference www.craftingadifference.com
More details about this to come, once their first hang to coincide with the London Artfair launches on January 18th. (They will curate further hangs to coincide with Collect 2021. Everything can be visited online.

‘Threnody’ 960x640mm’Threnody’ is the first of the newly reconstructed pieces, that will be hung for the first time at some point during Crafting a Difference changing combinations of work.

Meanwhile:

6 boxes containing my small framed tapestries set off to Wales before Christmas, to be part of a new group show ‘Monochrome’ at Ruthin Craft Centre. But they are still in limbo in Abergavenny, waiting to see whether the show can realistically go ahead. More on this as, hopefully, we know when it will be! Curated by Gregory Parsons, it promises to be a wonderful, unexpected curation of items black and white…..
